Easter Day and 2nd Sunday of Easter

4  & 11 April 2021

Welcome to your newsletter, which covers a period of two weeks.

Please use it to help in your prayers each day.

Dear friends,

The Easter acclamation echoes around the world. The whole universal Church rejoices for the Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour. The chants of victory over death and darkness resound in the hearts of all Christian people who have been commemorating the passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus through these holy days. New life springs forth everywhere, it seems like nature and the whole world join in with the Church in celebrating Jesus Resurrection.

Happy Easter!

Yours, John Vilaseca     01912524916             vilaseca26@yahoo.e

Prayer group:

St Paul’s Prayer group will be launched on Easter Day and will meet for the first time on Thursday 8th April at 10am in church. At the back of church are prayer cards; everyone is invited to take home a card to complete and bring back to place in the Prayer Box. The cards will then be used by the group in their prayers.

Notices

Annual Parochial Church Meeting: this will held on April 18th 2021 following the 10am service. The notices are displayed in the porch at church and have been sent out with the paper mailings for information. You can attend in church (please contact the Vicar to book a place) or online via Zoom. At the meeting there will be elections for 3 new PCC members and a new Churchwarden.

The APCM report containing St Paul’s accounts for 2020 and the reports from the PCC and the parish organisations will be emailed to all on the distribution list. A limited number of paper copies will also be printed; to request a paper copy, please contact the PCC secretary

Easter letter: a reminder if you have not yet responded to the letter you received about your giving to St Paul’s (letters were sent to everyone by email or paper copy at the beginning of March). Please think and pray to see if you can increase your current giving, and/or start to give regularly.  Everyone is asked to respond to the letter, even if it to say that you are unable to increase your giving at this time, as it is a great help when planning for the year. Replies should go as soon as possible to Lilian Martin, 9a Ashton Way, Whitley Bay NE26 3JH, by phone on 0191 252 2112, or by email lilian.martin@blueyonder.co.uk    Many thanks for all that you give to St Paul’s.

The Gate: a new edition of the parish magazine is now available. It has been emailed to all on the distribution list or can be downloaded from the website and once again an abridged version has been sent out to all those who receive paper copies of the mailings. This edition includes the tribute given at Beryl Carter’s funeral so everyone can read about her full and faithful life. We are hoping to be able to print copies for you to buy very soon but in the meantime, there is a box at the back of church for donations. Thank you to everyone who has contributed such interesting articles to keep the magazine going over the past year.

Newsletter entries: for the next edition, please pass them to Mary Evans by 6pm on Tuesday 13 April, or by email to saintpaulswhitleybay@gmail.com
