Bell Ringers

St Paul's Church

Guild of Bell Ringers.

St Paul's has a ring of eight bells in the bell tower. Six bells were installed in 1865 as a gift of Sir Charles Mark Palmer and inscribed with the Palmer Coat of Arms. At the turn of the twentieth century the bells were re-cast and two trebles were added.

The tower is open Monday evenings for practice between 7:30pm and 9pm. On Sundays we ring from 9:25am until 9:55am prior to our morning service.

If you are interested in visiting us or fancy giving bell ringing a try why not contact us? The Guild is looking for new members especially to mark the start of the Olympic Games and also the Queen's Jubilee. There is time to teach the basics to those new to ringing and anyone who wishes to assist will be made most welcome
