St Paul's Junior Choir

St Paul’s Junior Choir is for children aged 8 and above. We meet each Wednesday in term-time from 5.15 pm – 6.00pm in church.  We learn hymns, songs and choruses for different occasions and in our sessions have different warm ups and play games so that the children learn the basics of music theory. This they need for their RSCM ribbons. Junior Choir members join main Choir for part of the Mass every Sunday and on the 2nd Sunday of each month they stay in for the whole service.

In 2011 the Junior Choir performed in the Harvest Festival Mass, the Remembrance Sunday Service, Advent Carol Service and the Summer Fair.

St Paul’s Junior Choir has six regular members: Amy Cansfield, Oliver Cansfield, Emily Denham, Sarah Hylton,  Tabitha Taylor and Charlotte Teoh. All have now achieved their white medal as part of the RSCM Voice for Life and are working towards their Blue Ribbon. Many thanks go to Celia Temple who joins us once a month to work through the Voice for Life Scheme.

They are a wonderful group of children who are enthusiastic in all that they do and are a pleasure to work with. If you have heard them perform, I’m sure you will agree that they sing beautifully!!
